Community Housing

Rent for the Community Housing units is based on 30% of your household’s total gross monthly income.

Our Community Housing units are located in the City of Lethbridge.

These units vary in size and include 2, 3, 4 & 5 bedroom townhouses, duplexes & single-family dwellings. Rent for the Community Housing units is based on 30% of your household’s total gross monthly income. This rent amount includes heat & water. The tenant is responsible for electricity. Each unit has a fridge, stove, w/d hookup, and fenced back yard. Parking is available at an additional cost.

To be eligible for Community Housing you must meet the eligibility criteria:

Citizenship

  • a Canadian Citizen

  • a Permanent Resident

  • a Refugee sponsored by the Canadian Government or have applied for Refugee Status and received confirmation of acceptance of Immigration Status

2 Bedroom - $65,000

3 Bedroom - $69,000

4+ Bedroom $94,500

Assets Limit

A household does not hold over $25,00.00 in eligible assets, as defined by the Social Housing Accommodation Regulation.

Residency Requirements

Applicants must have lived in the Lethbridge catchment area for at least 6 months prior to applying (the catchment area is defined as the area from the BC Border east to Taber, and the US Border north to Claresholm) or have lived within the Lethbridge catchment area for any previous ten years of their life.

These requirements may be waived if the applicant is moving to Lethbridge in order to have access to better health and or safety supports.
